Ali Shamas  has a distinguished career spanning over several decades in leadership roles across various sectors. As CEO of Dhofar Power since 2012, he successfully led the company's integration and transitioned it from a concession agreement to a regulatory regime while maintaining ISO 188001, 14001, and 55001 certifications. Prior to joining Dhofar Power, Ali spent 17 years at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), where his last role was Area Coordinator for Bahja after a cross-posting in Shell Holland as a Senior Operations Engineer. Following his time at PDO, he joined the Port of Salalah for seven years, where he served as General Manager of the General Cargo Terminal. There, he significantly reduced Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) by 60% and implemented international HSSE standards during his first three years. Ali holds a BSc from the University of Washington and an MSc from Sheffield Hallam University, and has completed elite leadership programs, including Leading Leaders at APM Terminals and the prestigious LEAP program at INSEAD.
