While he was the CEO for Dhofar Power since 2012. He successfully implemented integration and previously led the DPC successfully from aconcession agreement to a regulatory regime. The company maintained
ISO 188001, 14001 and 55001 certifications.
Prior to joining Dhofar Power Company company, Ali spent 17 years in Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) last assignment as the Area coordinator bahja (area manager) after cross-posting in Shell Holland for
3 years as senior operation engineer. After his tenure in PDO, he joined the Port of Salalah for 7 years; last position was General Manager General Cargo Terminal. Part of his duties included managing HSSE activities for the first 3 years where one of his most significant contributions was reducing LTIs by 60% and implementing international standards of HSSE.
Ali holds a BSc from the University of Washington and an MSc from Sheffield Hallam University. He also attended elite leadership courses including leading leaders (APM Terminals) and as well a LEAP graduate from the prestigious INSEAD.
